Oppo is one of the world's leading smart device companies, founded in 2004 to study advanced technologies. The core mission of Oppo is to help people develop and build a mutually beneficial and inclusive society. Our main task was not only to create icons for the operating system of Oppo smartphones but also to build a relationship between the concept and the central vision of the company. 

While working with metaphors to find the most successful concept, we used three icons — settings, compass, and contacts. We applied different concepts to these icons and used moodboards to show how different styles reflected in the iconography. We have depicted icons in different versions and forms, shapes, colors, and sizes, depending on the style of the background of the screen. 

Our work with Oppo included a lot of research, creating many concepts and moodboards, and developing various visual designs, after which we chose three main concepts — Water, Crystal, and Futura. They were decomposed into certain metaphors, color schemes, and other elements. After the research, we approached the final choice, and after testing it with users, we settled on Water. It received the most significant approval from the customers.

We analyzed the different forms of water — it could be in a liquid form or the form of a crystal, as well as in some others. We created different types of icons and observed the ability to vary the icon's shape — it could be changed from square to round.

As a result of the work with Oppo, our team created two sets of icons that are being used on Oppo OS. One set of icons can transform into another, which makes it very convenient for the users. These sets are implemented and functioning on Oppo OS around the world.
